We need ya two ta.

L'ton asks Zipalla and Zorya to stand for Ista's clutch.

Ista Weyr - Southern Bowl
Compared to that of other weyrs, Ista's bowl is small, and incomplete - northwards, one wall was blown clear away several millenia ago, leaving the view clear towards the plateau, the jungles, and the ocean beyond that. Somewhat elliptical, the breadth of the bowl seems to run Northwest to Southeast, the bustling epicentre of the weyr being here, towards the southwest. Several large entrances have been dug into the great bowl walls here - north east are the hatching grounds, south the Living Caverns, these being the two largest caverns in the weyr.
To the east, a small entrance leads in to the ground weyrs - the ledges of these line the bowl wall above, often filled with dragons of gold or bronze; westwards is another ledge, but with a staircase built into the wall, allowing access to the Sable Sands. The infirmary is located towards the southwest.

Less than a day has passed, since Ankhepith took to the Sands at Ista, and settled her 9 eggs amongst the black diamond granules, and its been all that L'ton can do to keep Dhonzayth at bay. Having taken the bronze to Western, and then to Xanadu, looking for whatever diversions he can, he's now back at Ista, and his brassy lifemate is at the entrance to the Hatching Grounds, crooning away to his mate inside, while L'ton is left to stare helplessly.

Almost equally as antsy unable to stay completely away, Zipalla wanders into the Bowl, smiling to see L'ton and Dhon, though a sympathetic quirk of her happy expression leaves her with a soft frown. She nears her father then puts a hand on his arm, "I heard about the clutch.. and Ankhepith's cough.." and she glances to the bronze, "How's he doin?" she asks, not about to approach him just now, few things stand between a bronze and his queen, Zip isn't gonna be one of them.

Zorya had heard about the clutch, yes. Its not as if its an easy thing to NOT hear about, especially when one is living in the weyr where the clutch is laid. Curiosity is sure to get the best of her sooner or later, and sooner seems to be better this time around. Her arrival from the living caverns towards the hatching gallery is stopped by bronze bulk that just happens to be belong to her uncle, uncle and cousin included. A smile is offered towards the pair as she draws nearer. "How.." she starts, just in time to catch Zipalla's inquiry at which point she leaves off. No need to ask the same question twice after all.

"He really wants in. Ain't.. Ain't sure if'n Ah should let him, but.. Ah dunno if'n anyone'll get any sleep, if'n Ah dun." The bronze trumpets loudly to prove his point - an odd note lingering in his voice - before brassy wings are spread and he swivles to stare at the girls. "Y'all doing okay?" L'ton asks the pair of them, after the note has died away, shifting nervously from foot to foot, rather distracted by his lifemate.

Zipalla sighs and looks to Dhon then up at her father, "I'm sorry, da, I know it must be hard.." she says, curling an arm around to hug him gently. At the lift of wings and stare Zip tilts her head and gives the handsome bronze a sigh of support, "I'm sorry Dhon.." she says then smiles up at L'ton, "I'm alright, except for worrying about two of my favorite boys.. the healer seemed to think it'd be ok right?" she asks.

Zorya nods slowly, blue eyes shifting to watch the bronze. A bit of a wince at the trumpet being that its so close as the sound breaks into the air. A second nod as her gaze returns to L'ton, "Ah'm alright," she replies, "Just a little worried, like Zipalla said," since the other girl beat her too it. "Ah.." she starts, unsure if this would be the best time to note it, but then again it might not be the worst either, "..heard coughing from one of the weyrs down by the beach yesterday. Ah just thought someone should know." With the given turn of events lately at least.

L'ton nods rather absently to Zorya's words, only half hearing them as he stares at Dhonzayth. "So the 'healers, they'll take care of it." He murmurs softly, before shaking his head and staring at the two of them. "We ain't 'lowed at Eastern no more. Or Telgar. Or Reaches, though Ah dunno why anyone'd want ta go there." It seems like its just general information for the pair of them, even as he is nodding at Zip. "Ain't nobody died yet, but.. it ain't getting any better, either."

Zipalla glances to Zorya to exchange a helpless sort of worried look with her then she tightens her hold on her father for a moment then steps back a little, leaving just a hand resting at his back. Her eyes flick to Dhon and she smiles gently at him, "That's quite a clutch ya got out there, Dhon, everything will be right soon. You can send her strong thoughts and help her even from here, just knowing you're here probably helps her a lot.." she offers.

Zorya returns a similar look to her cousin, lifting a shoulder in a slight shrug as she looks back to the Dhon and his rider. "Telgar too?" she half questions as L'ton rattles of the list of places Ista's riders have been banned from. "Ah'd heard of some of them, but," Well there's more now. "The healers are working on it. They're keeping good tabs on what's going on from what Ah've heard running messages."

Dhonzayth croons more sedately at the pair of girls, watching them with yellow-tinged faceted eyes, settling for a moment. Wings droop, but then he's rocking back on his hind legs, trumpeting again, and then, suddenly he's taking off into the grounds, leaving L'ton staring after him. Slowly, he turns to blink at the girls, quiet confused. "Ah.." And he shakes his head again. "We're going to be short.. if'n we're not allowed plaes. Ah.. Ah told ya both Ah'd want ya ta stand if'n Dhon ever won but.. we need ya two ta."

Zip smiles at Dhon though her eyes are a bit glossy and when he turns to bolt for the sands she blinks and glances up at her father. "Da.. you know I will.." and she can't help but smile a little. "I mean..they're Dhon's.. yours…" words fail and she looks down for a moment then back up, nodding her head.

Zorya blinks towards the bronze, uncertain of his - well the only way to put it is strange - behavior. "Is he.. going to be okay?" she asks, almost as if she had meant only to think it and not actually say it aloud. Blue eyes drift back to L'ton and Zipalla once the Dhonzayth is well on his way. "Ah.. well.. Of course." she finally settles on the answer, half questioning herself. They both know that standing again was something she wasn't quite sure about after the last time.

Dhonzayth's trumpets echo from the Hatching Grounds as he's reunited with his mate, leaving L'ton to just stare. But then, he's realizing both agreed, and he's pulling them into hugs. "Ah knew we could count on the two of ya.." He admits, with the first real smile to have crossed his face in a while. "Ya'll think ya can settle yerselves inta the barracks? Ah.. Ah gotta try and get Dhon back out."

A somewhat more worried look is shifted toward the sands and the trumpeting bronze then Zip nods her head and leans up to kiss L'ton's cheek. "We can.." she says softly. "Give him a hug for me.. well I dunno if he wants hugs about now but.." and her voice trails off.

Zorya nods. Certainly by now she should know the drill of candidacy. Yes? And they both know where to find those barracks. Returning the hug he gives with her own short embrace, "Good luck," being offered as she steps back. "And if ya need anything…" Of course he knows where to find them, that bit being left out of being voiced.

"Ah will Zip.." L'ton tells his daughter, ruffling her hair and kissing her forehead, giving his niece similar treatment. And then, patting them on the shoulders, he's turning to send them off towards the barracks. "Let me know, if'n ya'll need help, or if anything is wrong." Its only a moment later that he's darting towards the Hatching Sands, and Dhonzayth the escapee bronze.

Zipalla smiles and then watches him go before looking to Zorya, a smile appearing. "Well.. it's not the best of situations but.. we get to be candidates together..that's a little bit of goodness in all the bad.." she says to her older cousin.

Zorya sends a look of worry after her uncle as he disappears towards the hatching grounds. A smile pulls to her lips however as she draws her attention back to Zipalla. "Not the best, but yes." she agrees. She'll not, however, say it could be worse, after all for some reason when its said, it happens. Best not to jinx it. "Being in it together is a good thing."

Zipalla grins, "I guess we'll move then.." she says with a glance toward the Caverns, "Then maybe I need some food.. and I gotta figure out what to do with the cats and flits, though I guess they'll let me see to them, like go check on them?" she asks, relying on her cousin's experience.

Zorya nods, "Its not like you're busy with chores -all- day," she replies, flashing a smile in her cousin's direction. "But yeah, might as well get things moved now," she agrees starting a step off towards the caverns, "Maybe there's someone you know who could help keep an eye on 'em though?"

Zip nods, "Riley can for me..you're the only other person I'd ask and that'd be silly.." she says with a grin. "It's been a long time since I snuck in the barracks.." and she giggles, excited.

Zorya laughs lightly, "Well Ah'd offer," she notes, "But like ya said, it'd be silly being that Ah won't have any more time for it than you." The blonde nods however, Riley will do. Beat. "You're not excited about this at all, are you." she teases, giving the other girl a light nudge in the side with an elbow.
